CleaningSpecialist.com is the result of a 36-year quest to achieve the finest Fur & Animal Hide Cleaning known to anyone. The idea was consummated in 1972 by the late Lou Ruggiero, who prior to that, was one of the country's largest shearling manufacturers who built his business as a wholesaler and retailer.

When his wholesale and retail customers expressed how challenging it was to find professional cleaning for their fine garments, Mr. Ruggiero decided to provide cleaning services as well. He traveled to Europe to learn cleaning techniques from the true masters of Fur, Leather, Suede & Shearling.

Upon his return, he opened his own Fur, Leather, Suede, & Shearling Cleaning Business. Mr. Ruggiero was very well known for the quality of his work and attention to detail. He presided over the company until early 2003, the year of his untimely passing.

Still to this day the company continues with his legacy of great service and dedication. He made it a point to teach his successors the value of a business built on Quality, Service, Love for what you do, Sacrifice and Simple Hard Work.
